We have all heard and read rags-to-riches stories of female entrepreneurs that talk about how people rose from poverty to millions, how they made it big, etc. But do we know that there are females who have started from nothing but ended up making it big in their lives?

Well, not many of us are aware of this because we do not usually get to read such things, do we?

Richa Kar was asked by her parents, “What will I tell my friends? That my daughter sells bras and panties online?” They were not supportive at the beginning. But as there is a popular saying, “keep doing what you love, your results will speak on your behalf,” things are no more the same for Richa as her company, Zivame, being one of the most famous online lingerie stores, has more than two thousand different styles of lingerie products to offer.

It is due to Zivame that today it is easier for women to order lingerie of their choice without revealing the product description on the delivery packets.

#2. Suchi Mukherjee

Suchi is a woman who is always envisioned creating and growing businesses that are focused on providing consumer products that are in demand but yet simple.

When Suchi was on maternity leave, she got the idea of creating LimeRoad, India’s first women’s special shopping website that also deals in clothing and accessories for women, men, and kids.

#3. Shubhra Chadda

Shubhra Chadda and her husband, Vivek Prabhakar, are the people behind Chumbak – a company that is focused on the essence of India. There are various ranges of products available on its portal. Products such as backpacks, fashion-related, decors, key chains, etc.

Initially, it is said that the couple had to sell their house but now their success has their back. Their company has now got 20 stores and kiosks across cities like Bengaluru, Kolkata, Surat, etc.

#4. Naina Lal Kidwai

Naina Lal Kidwai is the chairperson of HSBC, Group General Manager, and Country Head of HSBC India. At a very younger age, Naina Lal Kidwa became the head of the investment bank at ANZ Grindlays in 1989.

Furthermore, she is the only Indian woman to graduate from Harvard Business School and was honored with Padma Shri for her contributions to the field of trade and industry.

#5. Shahnaz Husain

Shahnaz Husain is one of the most well-known and prominent female entrepreneurs in India. The Shahnaz Husain Group has more than 400 franchise clinics across the globe in more than 138 countries. She has also been awarded the 4th highest civilian award in India, Padma Shri, in 2006. Her company, Shahnaz Herbal Inc. is producing skin-related products without animal testing.
