How did you come to be an entrepreneur?
Entrepreneurship for me was a very planned move.10 years back, digital/online marketing was just catching up in the Indian market. I quit my job as an HR Manager and did a full-year course in Digital Marketing and worked with a renowned marketing agency to gain hands-on experience. I started Digitacticx 8 years back with 1 employee, and we started helping small businesses to start their online business. With Research, we realized there are not too many agencies to help start-ups or bootstraps really explore the online space. I identified the opportunity and developed a business plan that will help small businesses to explore the online journey of their business. Assembled a team of individuals with the necessary skills and expertise to bring their idea to life. We created a niche for us in this arena by keeping the main focus on ROI. We realized when our clients make money, we get more business, and that became our Motto. Today we are a team of 35+ people, and we have worked with 100+ brands till now. We are passionate about our work, and we onboard new clients with the same passion as we onboarded our first client.

I truly believe that it’s not about a woman or a man; it’s about how well you know what you are selling. In my case, I was lucky to have friends and colleagues who helped me and trusted me in the initial days of my agency. Most of my clients have been with me for more than 5 years now, and I believe it’s all about the work one does. Being a woman did not stop me from getting new accounts, I can rather admit some clients gave me a chance because they were impressed that a woman was running the show.
How do you achieve work-life balance?
I have two amazing kids, aged 15 and 11, and being a mother while running a business can sometimes feel like a juggling act. I won’t lie, it is quite challenging at times, but I’m incredibly grateful for the incredible support I receive from my team. One thing we’ve done is make sure everyone gets to take a break on Saturdays and Sundays. This gives me a chance to rest, spend quality time with my family, and create a smooth work-life balance.
If you could describe yourself in a few words, what would they be?
I’m Ankita Gupta, an Entrepreneur, Founder, YPO Member, Digital Enthusiast, and advocate for incorporating technology in all areas of life and livelihood. Being a mother of two lovely kids, a responsible wife, and a woman playing multiple household roles. I started my entrepreneurship journey with Digitactix, which promotes 360-degree digital marketing services for brands across the globe.
If you could change anything in the Indian market, what would it be?
If there’s one thing I could change in the Indian market, it would be the perception of independent agencies like ours. We face a challenge when approaching new clients who desire both fresh ideas and prior experience in their specific industry. I want to emphasize that despite our size, we possess immense potential. While we may lack extensive experience in every industry, our passion and adaptability allow us to provide tailored strategies for our clients quickly. With a personal touch, we aim to showcase our capabilities and demonstrate that size doesn’t limit our ability to deliver excellent results.
How are entrepreneurship and working women important for India?
As a female entrepreneur myself, I strongly believe that entrepreneurship and working women play a vital role in shaping India’s future. When women actively participate in the workforce, it brings a diverse range of perspectives, skills, and talents to businesses, leading to more creativity and better decision-making.
By empowering women to become economically independent, we pave the way for greater gender equality and overall societal well-being. It is important for us, as a nation, to recognize and support the unique talents and capabilities that women bring to the table, allowing them to thrive and make a lasting impact on the entrepreneurial landscape of our country.
Define a perfect business leader. What are the qualities you think a great leader possesses?
A perfect business leader, in my opinion, is someone who embodies a combination of qualities that inspire and guide their team towards success. To me, such a leader has a clear vision for the organization and can effectively articulate it to the team. Equally important is their ability to listen and understand the perspectives and concerns of team members, fostering open communication. A great leader has the power to motivate and inspire their employees, creating a positive work culture where everyone feels valued and motivated to give their best.
What is the road map of your organization?
The roadmap for my agency is to continue to give our best to our clients. We follow strong business ethics and believe in complete transparency with our clients. Our aim is to be a trustworthy organization with highly skilled professionals and experts making decisions in the best interest of our clients. We want to be a good company doing great work.
