Saumya Prakash is a renowned name in the Pharma and Healthcare marketing world as she harnesses the power of ML and AI in the health industry. She holds an impressive background in business and data analytics.

Saumya is passionate about Healthcare and application of technology to solve complex problems. She hosts her podcast channel “The Pharma Marketing Playbook – GenAI and Beyond”. She is also authoring a book for aspiring women entrepreneurs to support them in their startup journey.

Decision Maker: Give us a bit of background about yourself and your company.

Saumya Prakash: I am positioned as a Director and Co-Founder of Multiplier AI Solutions. I completed my higher studies at SP JAIN and B Tech (Computer Science) from BITS Pilani. After pursuing Bioinformatics through IIT Hyderabad, I managed to acquire a position on the Dean’s list at BITS Pilani.

I was also chosen as one of the young women leaders of Capgemini by top management amongst the 300 women achievers in the company. Other recognitions include the prestigious alumni award by SPJIMR in the “Excellence in Entrepreneurship” category. At present, I take care of multiple roles in Multiplier AI and manage strategy, operations, and investments.

Decision Maker: Where does your interest in entrepreneurship come from – how did you start?

Saumya Prakash: Defining my interest in entrepreneurship through a single source seems complicated. It was always the combination of experiences I gathered, including the entrepreneurship role at SPJIMR and working with some of the brightest mentors in the industry. It helped in the growth of my professional career. A few books and publications by Robert Kiyosaki and Richard Branson also worked as motivations in my career.

Decision Maker: Give us insights into the company’s significant offerings. And how does the company support people with its offerings?

Saumya Prakash: Multiplier AI Solutions was founded in 2016 to integrate technology into healthcare companies for the generation of incremental revenues. It supports the creation of deep domain expertise and enables the creation of solutions for other recognized healthcare enterprises. We are a big team of almost 70 people comprising technology experts, data scientists, account managers, and content experts in major locations in India.

Here are the offerings of our Product Suite:

  • Completely automated data engine for scraping down the real-time data on over 60+ parameters for physicians through sources such as Pubmed, Social Media, Practo, LinkedIn, etc.
  • We also have expertise in deduplicating data and generating over 97.5% clean data with a 99% fill rate.
  • We also excel in finding the key opinion leaders who lay emphasis on the revenue generation of brands with data analytics tools. We also use the help of various influencer marketing programs for key opinion leaders who aid in enhancing digital outreach through omnichannel communication platforms such as email, WA campaigns, BOTs, etc. We analyze the campaign feedback and utilize the combination of AI and ML technology for better performance and reduced cost over time.

Decision Maker: Who are your clients? How do you keep your clients happy and satisfied?

Saumya Prakash: Our top clients include renowned healthcare sector names like Abbott, Cipla, Sunpharma, Galderma, Medtronic, Smith and Nephew to gain better revenues from marketing solutions. With our phenomenal end-to-end product suite, it is now possible to convert non-subscribers into subscribers to enhance revenue generation.

Decision Maker: What makes your company stand out in the market?

Saumya Prakash: Multiplier AI is a leading firm that holds a strong belief in generating the best ROI for every dollar spent by clients. Our objective from the first interaction with clients is to help in revenue monetization. We aim at revenue multiplication, creating margins, and making a significant impact on our clients.

Decision Maker: How do women feel in the male-dominated industry?

Saumya Prakash: Establishing yourself in a male-dominated industry is always challenging. One might feel marginalized at first, but it feels better as we are able to prove our capabilities and add value to the organization. The world is changing, and top industry leaders are making proactive attempts to involve women’s participation at different levels.

Thus, there has been a higher level of encouragement and acceptance of women by all leading organizations. Still, there’s a lot to cope with to ensure an increased level of women’s participation of women as leaders and entrepreneurs. My book for aspiring women entrepreneurs looks to address these issues

Decision Maker: What do you think is the most challenging problem for businesswomen?

Saumya Prakash: For a businesswoman, one of the toughest challenges is dealing with gender biases in a workplace usually dominated by men. Balancing work and personal life, overcoming unequal opportunities, and getting the needed support and resources can be big obstacles.

 To tackle these challenges, she needs to stay strong, build helpful connections, and promote continuously learn from mentors and the industry.

Decision Maker: What’s a day in your life like as an entrepreneur?

Saumya Prakash: Well, my entrepreneurial journey is full of challenges. It begins with focusing on plans aligning with the company’s goals and vision. This also comprises strategic aspects related to team management, resource mobilization, work review, and a thorough understanding of client feedback, helping in future improvisation.

A few days are also dedicated to stakeholder management for marketing, employees, investor relations, etc.

Decision Maker: How do you achieve a balance between your personal and professional life?

Saumya Prakash: For me, work and personal life both hold equal importance. On days when my family needs more importance, I plan my work accordingly. On other days when work is crucial, even if it’s Sunday, I do it wholeheartedly. There are no rigid boundaries between family and work, as both are important. Keeping a fluid division helps me in maintaining an equal pace between the both.

Decision Maker: What have you learned about entrepreneurship in your journey?

Saumya Prakash: My experience says that entrepreneurship is more of a mindset than a profession. It demands inner management skills to tackle various areas of demand. Allowing enough dedication and perseverance to retain high energy levels and motion for your team and yourself keeps you going through the odds.

You need time to establish a business and succeed in it. Hence, keeping a detailed plan handy can help you before venturing into entrepreneurship.

To create your path in the male-dominated industry, aspiring female entrepreneurs need to adhere to the below fundamental principles to ensure their success:

  • Be Confident: Stay confident about your skills and contribute to ensuring your specific presence in the workplace.
  • Have a robust support system: Seek entrepreneurship lessons from other women in the industry and gaining their mutual support can help you in further growth. It can also help in creating a valuable network for guidance.
  • Embrace Constant Learning practices: Keep yourself updated about ongoing industry trends and advancements that help in seeking better expertise and retaining credibility.
  • Self-advocation is important: Speaking up for yourself with your achievements and ideas ensures that your contributions are well-recognized and that you gain valuable responses in the entity.
  • Strategic Networking: Participating in industry events and strategic networking to generate opportunities for connecting with professionals and career growth is essential. It can impart valuable support and insights to you.

Decision Maker: Describe the most memorable incident of your professional life.

Saumya Prakash: Receiving the first payment from our business is the best experience that I will remember forever. We also recently received the alumni award in the “Excellence in Entrepreneurship” category from SPJIMR. Again, it is a very proud moment that I will remember forever.

Saumya Prakash: Well, I can say I am a “quick learner.”
